Megan Compain

Megan Compain

A genuine trailblazer in New Zealand sport, Megan Compain is the first Kiwi basketballer to play professionally in the USA and the only New Zealand woman to conquer the WNBA.

Add to that a decade of representing New Zealand in basketball, including two Olympic Games, and you have a true sporting legend.

Beyond the court, Megan's 20-year journey in sports management includes pivotal roles in New Zealand Rugby and as a creative force in the business of sport.

Having been at the forefront of sport for decades she recognizes the significant strides in support, investment, and visibility of women in sport and advocates for continued momentum.

But despite progress in gender equality, there is still a need to protect young females from abuse in the workplace.

As a keynote speaker, Megan blends her experiences into empowering narratives, and her story gives others the courage to report abusive behaviour and find comfort in knowing they are not at fault.

An experienced MC she has also moderated panels for international conferences and workshops with the same skill and dedication she employed as a professional athlete.
