Episode summary | Paddy Gower

Paddy Gower is more than just the guy who said “This is the fucking news!” or smoked weed on TV.

He’s National Correspondent for Newshub and a documentary maker raising issues of national significance in New Zealand. Authentic, vulnerable, honest and entertaining, we cover everything from politics, to global issues, to rugby. And while he works hard, he parties hard too as we find out in this episode.

He talks fondly of his first job as night shift reporter at the New Zealand Herald all the way to his epic tale of losing his passport with on a secret press tour with then Prime Minister John Key on his way to Iraq.

Previously a Political Editor, he spent ten years in the Parliamentary Press Gallery covering four different Prime Ministers and three different Governments. He has moderated two leader’s debates, three US Presidential Elections and has covered stories in places as varied as Afghanistan and Kiribati.
